ZENO

Zeno of Elea born 490 B.C. and died 430 B.C..

Greek philosopher, whose paradoxes riased 'modern' problems of space and time,

e.g. Achilles can never overtake a tortoise in a race if space can be infinitely divided;

whenever he reaches where the tortoise was the tortoise will have moved just ahead

of him.
